Phase 0: Company-wide + Program-specific Training
Applies to: All employees (Tier 1 HIPAA/GDPR training) and patient-facing program team members (Tier 2 program-specific SOP training)
Sequence note: Phases 0-4 sequential; phase 10 anytime; not all phases apply
What you'll learn
- Identify the two training tiers and which staff must complete each tier before patient interaction begins
- State the completion deadlines and escalation steps that apply when training is overdue
- Confirm that all training completions are logged in Dayforce as required
Lesson
Tier 1 - Company-wide HIPAA and GDPR Training
Every employee must complete general HIPAA for Business Associates plus GDPR training (30-45 minutes) before any patient interaction begins. Laura Ladymon / People+ assigns this training in Dayforce. Staff must finish within 30 days of assignment.

Tier 2 - Program-Specific SOP Training for Patient Teams
Staff on patient-facing teams (Tier 2) must complete mandatory full SOP training before their first patient engagement, and then annually. The Participant Program Leader flags Tier 2 members to Laura Ladymon for assignment in Dayforce.

Escalation Path for Overdue Training
If training is not completed by Day 31 after assignment, escalation goes to Department Leadership and the employee is restricted from patient-facing activities. If training remains incomplete at 60 or more days, the matter escalates to Mark Lydiatt for an HR action determination.

Client-Specific Adverse Event (AE) Training
Where applicable to the program, staff must also complete client-specific adverse event (AE) training before engaging with patients. Check with your program lead to determine whether AE training is required for your assignment.

Log All Training Completions in Dayforce
All training completions - Tier 1, Tier 2, and AE training - must be logged in Dayforce. Do not assume a completion is recorded; verify the log entry after finishing each module.

Scenario
Alex joined the patient engagement team three weeks ago. Alex completed and logged Tier 1 HIPAA/GDPR training on day one. Alex has not yet started Tier 2 SOP training. A program manager asks Alex to join a call with a patient scheduled for tomorrow morning.
What should Alex do before joining the patient call tomorrow?
Incorrect. Tier 1 alone is not sufficient for patient-facing team members. Tier 2 full SOP training must be completed before any patient engagement.
Correct. The SOP requires Tier 2 mandatory full SOP training before the first patient engagement. Alex must complete and log Tier 2 training before participating.
Incorrect. Being present on a patient call is patient interaction regardless of whether a participant speaks. The training requirement applies.
Incorrect. A manager email cannot override the SOP training requirement. The control applies regardless of business pressure.

Who is responsible for assigning Tier 1 and Tier 2 training in Dayforce?
Incorrect. Direct managers are not identified as the assigning party in the slides.

Incorrect. The Participant Program Leader flags Tier 2 members to Laura Ladymon, but Laura Ladymon / People+ does the actual assignment.
By what deadline must Tier 1 training be completed after it is assigned?
Incorrect. The deadline is not 7 days.
Incorrect. The deadline is not 14 days.
Correct. Training must be completed within 30 days of assignment.
Incorrect. 60 days is when the second escalation (to Mark Lydiatt for HR action) is triggered, not the completion deadline.
True or False: Tier 2 program-specific SOP training must be completed before a staff member's first patient engagement.
Correct. The slide states Tier 2 training is mandatory and must be completed before the first engagement.
Incorrect. The SOP explicitly requires Tier 2 training before first engagement - it cannot be deferred.
